This application also has a 'Sentencing' feature that calculates and displays an approximate release date for your client, based on the time they served and the sentence passed down. Click on the red gavel symbol to activate this feature.
As per Massachusetts law, eligible inmates in state prison can be granted "good time" at a rate of up to 7.5 days per program, per month (MGL c. 127, § 129D). This calculator has a "good time" toggle switch that assumes an average of 5 good days per month.
